Robert Vadra’s 3-Hour Grilling: ‘Witch Hunt’ Claims Fly in Land Deal Saga!

Published:

Robert Vadra, husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, labeled the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) summons regarding the Shikhopur land deal as a “witch hunt” and “political vendetta.” After walking to the ED office in Delhi, he was interrogated for three hours, marking his second visit to the agency.

Upon leaving, Vadra claimed that the central government misuses federal agencies whenever he criticizes the Narendra Modi administration. He characterized the case as harassment, stating, “There is nothing in this case. I’ve been summoned 15 times over two decades and questioned for over 10 hours each time, providing 23,000 documents.” He also referred to the situation as political vendetta, asserting that the government is weaponizing central agencies against him.

In an interview with India Today TV, Vadra, brother-in-law of Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, accused federal agencies of trying to silence him. He said, “They obstruct Rahul in Parliament. Whenever I advocate for the people, they attempt to suppress me… I have always provided the necessary answers and will continue to do so.”

Vadra had previously missed an initial summons on April 8. The ED is investigating alleged financial irregularities involving his company, Skylight Hospitality, which purchased a 3.5-acre plot in Gurgaon’s Shikophur for Rs 7.5 crore in February 2008 and later sold it to DLF for Rs 58 crore. The agency suspects the proceeds may be linked to money laundering and is tracing the financial trail. Once Vadra attends the questioning, his statement will be documented.
