Pakistan has expressed concern over U.S. military technology transfers to India

Published:

On February 14, 2025, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concerns over the proposed transfer of U.S. military technology to India, following a joint statement issued after Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the U.S. The statement highlights enhanced defense collaboration between India and the U.S. across various sectors, aiming to improve military cooperation through advanced technologies. Pakistan warned that this could disrupt regional power balance.

The joint statement also called on Pakistan to bring to justice those responsible for the 26/11 Mumbai and Pathankot attacks and to prevent cross-border terrorism. Pakistan’s spokesperson criticized the mention of the country as one-sided and misleading, arguing it ignored India’s role in supporting terrorism and highlighted rising hate crimes against minorities in India, as well as India’s non-compliance with U.N. resolutions.

Additionally, President Trump announced the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, a Canadian national of Pakistani descent, to India for his alleged involvement in the 26/11 attacks.
