Introducing Kshitij Tyagi, an Indian diplomat who expressed concerns about Pakistan’s position on Kashmir at the United Nations.

Published:

India has strongly responded to Pakistan’s comments on Kashmir at the UN, calling it a “failed state” dependent on international aid. During the UN Human Rights Council meeting, Kshitij Tyagi from India’s Permanent Mission criticized Pakistan’s reliance on foreign assistance and its leaders’ propagation of falsehoods linked to a military-terrorist nexus.

He reaffirmed that Jammu and Kashmir, along with Ladakh, will always be integral to India, highlighting recent progress in the region. Tyagi condemned Pakistan for using the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to promote its agenda and urged it to focus on its domestic issues instead. He emphasized India’s commitment to democracy and development, suggesting Pakistan could benefit from adopting similar principles.

Tyagi reiterated India’s position, highlighting that Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Ladakh, will forever be an essential component of India, citing the advancements made in these areas.

“The Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are and will always be an inseparable part of India. The remarkable political, social, and economic developments in J&K over recent years are evident. These achievements reflect the confidence the people have in the government’s dedication to restoring normalcy in a region that has endured years of terrorism supported by Pakistan,” Tyagi stated.
