Flight Fracas: IndiGo Touches Down Early as SpiceJet Diverts Due to Glitch

Published:

In just a few hours, two different commercial flights, one from IndiGo and the other from SpiceJet, were compelled to make emergency landings. These emergency landings were necessitated by technical problems, once again raising concerns about the increasing frequency of in-flight malfunctions. An IndiGo flight bound for Leh had to return to Delhi shortly after its departure on Thursday morning. Flight 6E 2006, carrying approximately 180 passengers and crew, made a safe landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport. According to the airline, the crew acted promptly, adhering to all standard safety protocols after facing operational restrictions that would have hindered landing in Leh.

The airline stated, “IndiGO flight 6E 2006 operating from Delhi to Leh on June 19, 2025, returned to its origin due to a technical issue.”
An alternative aircraft was arranged to transport the passengers to their intended destination. As per the latest reports, there have been no injuries reported thus far. The airline spokesperson indicated that the affected aircraft is currently under investigation.

IndiGo flight aborts take-off at Bhubaneswar airport
Earlier on Wednesday, IndiGo Flight 6E 6101, which was set to depart from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata, was in the process of taking off when the pilot notified Air Traffic Control (ATC) about a potential technical issue. In response, ATC instructed the aircraft to cancel the take-off and return to the parking area to prioritize passenger safety. The aircraft was quickly towed back from the runway, and all passengers were safely deboarded. There were no reports of injuries or panic among the passengers, and airport personnel assisted with the deplaning process.
