New Delhi, October 2, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted citizens across the country on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra 2025, also known as Vijayadashami, a festival symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.
Taking to social media, PM Modi conveyed his wishes, stating that the festival inspires people to walk on the path of truth, courage, and righteousness. He urged citizens to draw strength from the values of Lord Rama and commit to building a more harmonious and inclusive society.
“Vijayadashami is not just a celebration, it is a reminder that no matter how powerful evil appears, truth and virtue always prevail,” the Prime Minister said in his message.
Across India, devotees celebrated the festival with grandeur—effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnath were set ablaze in various cities, marking the symbolic destruction of evil. Cultural programs, Ram Leela performances, and vibrant fairs drew large crowds, while temples witnessed special prayers and rituals.
Dussehra also holds political and social significance, with leaders across party lines extending greetings to citizens. Security measures were heightened in major cities to ensure smooth conduct of festivities.
The day marks the culmination of the nine-day Navratri festival and sets the stage for upcoming Diwali celebrations, spreading joy and optimism across the nation.
