Chris Martin will help plan the World Cup Final half-time show

Published:

Chris Martin of Coldplay and the band’s manager, Phil Harvey, will help FIFA organize the inaugural half-time show for the World Cup final in the U.S. next year.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced their involvement via Instagram. The men’s final is set for July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Infantino noted that Martin and Harvey will finalize the artist lineup, with the show expected to last 25 to 30 minutes. He called it a historic occasion for the World Cup.

Additionally, Times Square will have a “takeover” during the final weekend. The tournament will be co-hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico amid ongoing trade tensions. Recently, Canadian fans have booed the U.S. anthem in response to political comments.

Last month, Martin and Katy Perry performed at the Invictus Games opening ceremony in Canada.
