The consequences of cloudbursts and landslides persist in Himachal Pradesh, with the death toll rising to 91 from June 20 to July 10, as reported by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA). In their most recent report, the authorities indicated that 55 fatalities were linked to rain-related incidents, including landslides, cloudbursts, flash floods, drowning, and electrocution. Additionally, 131 individuals sustained injuries, and 364 animals perished due to the severe rainfall in the region.
Rain forecast for Delhi NCR: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has anticipated light rain and thunderstorms in Delhi and surrounding areas on Friday, coinciding with the early arrival of the monsoon in northern India. Showers are ongoing in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and other NCR locations on July 11, with the maximum temperature projected to hover around 30 degrees Celsius.
Heavy rainfall has resulted in significant disruption in Manipur’s Churachandpur district, creating flood-like conditions in numerous areas, according to officials. The heavy rain commenced on Tuesday afternoon and persisted through the night into Wednesday. The overflowing Lanva river has inundated several villages situated between Pearsonmun and Mualkoi.
