The Indian cricket team’s recent triumph in the ICC Champions Trophy has earned them a cash prize of Rs 58 crore from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), announced on Thursday.
“The BCCI is delighted to award INR 58 crore to Team India in recognition of their success at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This reward honors the contributions of players, coaching staff, support personnel, and the Menâs Selection Committee,” the board stated.
India claimed their third Champions Trophy title by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final on March 9 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Sources indicate that each player in the 15-member squad will receive Rs 3 crore from the BCCI. Additionally, the entire ICC prize money of US$ 2.24 million (approximately Rs 20 crore) for winning the 2025 Champions Trophy will be shared among the players.
India’s unbeaten run to the trophy included five victories, with Rohit Sharma and his team demonstrating their dominance throughout the tournament.
In the group stage, India defeated Bangladesh and Pakistan by six wickets each and finished with a 44-run win against New Zealand. They then overcame Australia by four wickets in the semi-final to reach the final.
âWinning consecutive ICC titles is a remarkable achievement, and this reward reflects Team Indiaâs commitment and excellence on the international stage,” said BCCI president Roger Binny. “This cash award acknowledges the dedication of everyone involved behind the scenes. This marks our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Womenâs World Cup victory, highlighting the strength of our cricketing framework.”
