On Monday, President Droupadi Murmu took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Dressed in a white saree, she prayed at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, participated in Ganga Aarti, and performed additional rituals.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13 and ends on February 26, is the world’s largest spiritual gathering, attracting devotees globally. Accompanying her were Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
After her dip, President Murmu is set to visit Akshayavat and Hanuman Mandir, with Chief Minister Adityanath joining her. Notably, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India’s first President, also took a holy dip at the event. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Mela, taking a dip and offering prayers with ‘rudraksha’ beads.
