Singapore has the world’s most powerful passport, while India ranks 80th.

The passport of Singapore is recognized as the most powerful in the world, whereas India’s passport ranks considerably lower, positioned at 80th. This ranking is shared with Algeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Tajikistan, as reported by the 2025 Henley Passport Index.

The Henley & Partners index ranks the passports of 199 countries based on accessible destinations, using data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

In the 2025 index, Singapore has the strongest passport, allowing access to 193 countries, while India ranks 80th, alongside Algeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Tajikistan. Japan and South Korea are second with access to 190 countries, while Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain share third place with 189 countries each.

At the bottom, Afghanistan ranks 99th with access to only 25 countries, followed by Syria and Iraq at 98th and 97th, with access to 27 and 30 countries, respectively.
