Delhi Police has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Amanatullah Khan, the AAP candidate from Okhla, for allegedly breaching the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) on the day of polling. The FIR has been lodged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Representation of the People (RP) Act.
The case is registered at Jamia Nagar Police Station under FIR No. 95/25, citing sections 223/3/5 of the BNS and Section 126 of the RP Act.
Delhi Police reported that Khan was seen with over 100 supporters campaigning late Tuesday night in Toba Colony, Zakir Nagar, violating the Representation of the People Act, which prohibits campaigning within 48 hours of voting.
