Newsroom Conclave: Puri Rath Yatra Set to Mirror Kumbh Mela’s Economic Triumph

Newsroom, a growing online platform, celebrated its first year with the ‘Divine Puri Conclave’ at the Taj Vivanta hotel in Patrapada, Bhubaneswar.

The event was shaped by Newsroom’s founder-editor Manaranjan Mishra and CEO Priyadarshi Bal. Several key figures took part in discussions about how Odisha’s tourism scene, especially around the Rath Yatra festival, can expand and improve.

In the opening session, leaders from major political parties shared their views. BJP state president Manmohan Samal, Congress’s Bhakta Das, and BJD’s Debi Prasad Mishra spoke about politics and tourism developments in the region. This discussion was guided by Manoranjan Mishra from Newsroom.

Expert opinions added depth to the event. Spiritual Guru Swami Shradhanand Saraswati, IIM Lucknow Professor Satyabhusan Das, lawyer Mrinalini Pati, BJP MLA Siddhant Mahapatra, senior journalist Rajaram Satpathy, political analyst Tapan Chand, economist Rajeev Shekhar Sahu, and stock market expert Priyadarshi Bal all shared their ideas. They talked about how festivals like Rath Yatra could boost tourism and help the economy. They also discussed ways to promote and improve the festival to benefit local areas and communities.

Professor Satyabhusan Das pointed out the strong link between the Rath Yatra and the economy of Puri. Having studied the Kumbh Mela, he explained that such festivals help attract tourists and grow local markets. He said that the Rath Yatra could do the same. By showcasing local crafts, art, and products, it could give a real boost to businesses around Puri.
