On Tuesday, police reported that an email warning of a potential bomb explosion was sent to the Mantralaya, the administrative center of the Maharashtra government located in south Mumbai.
The anonymous message, received by an official in the Disaster Management Control Room on Monday evening, indicated that a blast could occur within 48 hours, although it did not specify a location.
Authorities searched the extensive complex but found no suspicious items. Given the ongoing military tensions between India and Pakistan, Mumbai Police have heightened their alert status, increasing security at key sites throughout the city as a precaution.
The Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) has also been notified, and a case has been filed at the Marine Drive Police Station. Investigations are underway to trace the sender using the IP address.
